Books to die for/ Songs to live for

There's nothing like the impending end of the world to get publishers twitching about the 'next big thing'. There's a veritable tsunami of books about extinction, meltdown, biodiversity, carbon footprints and how to befriend a bee. We've asked three festival friends to pick through the titles and tell us what moves, depresses or inspires them.

Classic jazz songs about climate breakdown will ensure proceedings don't become too grim!
